Description

These Chocolate Dipped Rice Krispie Treats combine the classic crispy, chewy texture of homemade Rice Krispie bars with a decadent coating of melted dark cocoa candy melts and a vibrant drizzle of bright pink candy melts. Finished with colorful sprinkles and served on fun paper straws, these treats are perfect for parties, celebrations, or a playful dessert snack that’s both visually appealing and delicious.

Ingredients

Scale

Rice Krispie Treats

  • 8 Rice Krispies Treat Bars (0.78 oz each, or equivalent homemade treats)

Coating

  • 1 cup Dark Cocoa Candy Melts
  • 1/4 cup Bright Pink Candy Melts
  • 1 tablespoon Vegetable Oil

Decoration

  • Sprinkles (about 3 tablespoons, color of choice)
  • Eight 6” Paper Straws

Instructions

  1. Insert Straws: Firmly press each 6-inch paper straw about three-quarters of the way into each Rice Krispie treat bar to create a handle for easy dipping and eating.
  2. Melt Dark Cocoa Candy Melts: In a microwave-safe cup or small bowl, combine dark cocoa candy melts with half of the vegetable oil. Heat in 30-second increments, stirring thoroughly after each interval, for approximately 90 seconds or until completely melted and smooth.
  3. Dip in Chocolate: Dip half of each Rice Krispie pop into the melted dark cocoa chocolate. Let any excess chocolate drip off or gently wipe the inside rim of the cup to avoid clumps.
  4. Add Sprinkles and Dry: Firmly press the chocolate-coated bottom half of the pop into the sprinkles. Place the treats on a flat surface with the sprinkle side down. Allow the chocolate to harden completely, which will take about 20 minutes.
  5. Melt Pink Candy Melts: Repeat the melting process with the bright pink candy melts and the remaining vegetable oil. Allow the mixture to cool slightly for about five minutes so it is safe to drizzle without melting the previous layer.
  6. Drizzle Pink Candy: Using a fork, quickly and carefully drizzle the pink candy melts over the chocolate-covered portion of each pop. Allow the drizzle to harden completely. Optionally, repeat the drizzle on the other side for additional decoration.

Notes

  • Ensure the rice krispie treats are firm and cooled before inserting the straws to prevent breaking.
  • If you don’t have candy melts, white chocolate chips or melting chocolates can be used as substitutes.
  • Vegetable oil helps to smooth out the candy melts and creates a glossy finish.
  • For faster setting, place dipped treats in the refrigerator for 10-15 minutes.
  • Customize sprinkles and candy melt colors to match holiday or party themes.
