Ingredients
Scale
Dry Ingredients
- 1 box yellow cake mix
Wet Ingredients
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup melted butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Add-ins and Decorations
- 1 cup chocolate chips
- 1/4 cup sprinkles (optional)
- 1/2 cup frosting (optional, for decorating)
Instructions
- Preheat and Prepare Pan: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line a 9-inch round cake pan with parchment paper to ensure the cookie cake doesn’t stick.
- Mix Dough: In a large bowl, combine the yellow cake mix, melted butter, eggs, and vanilla extract. Mix thoroughly until a thick, cookie-like dough forms.
- Add Chocolate Chips and Sprinkles: Gently fold in the chocolate chips and sprinkles, if using, making sure they are evenly distributed throughout the dough.
- Press Dough into Pan: Transfer the dough to the prepared cake pan and press it down evenly to form a uniform layer.
- Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 20 to 25 minutes. The cookie cake is done when the edges turn golden brown and the center is set but still slightly soft. A toothpick inserted should come out with a few moist crumbs.
- Cool: Allow the cookie cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes. Then carefully transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Decorate and Serve: Once fully cooled, decorate the edges with frosting and sprinkle extra sprinkles on top if desired. Slice into wedges and serve.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, consider substituting butter with browned butter.
- If you prefer a softer cookie cake, reduce baking time slightly and check for doneness earlier.
- You can customize add-ins with nuts, white chocolate chips, or dried fruit instead of sprinkles.
- Use a serrated knife to slice the cookie cake cleanly once cooled.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
