Description

Bang Bang Salmon Bites are a flavorful and easy-to-make appetizer or snack featuring tender salmon cubes coated with a spicy, creamy bang bang sauce. This quick recipe combines the smoky, savory seasoning on perfectly cooked salmon with a sweet and spicy sauce made from mayonnaise, Thai sweet chili sauce, sriracha, honey, and lime juice, delivering a deliciously balanced bite every time.

Ingredients

Scale

Salmon Bites

  • 1 pound skinless salmon fillets
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Bang Bang Sauce

  • ¼ cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons Thai sweet chili sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sriracha
  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • ½ teaspoon lime juice

Instructions

  1. Prepare the salmon: Cut the salmon fillets into 1-inch cubes. Place them in a bowl and toss with olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, cayenne pepper (if using), salt, and black pepper until evenly coated.
  2. Cook the salmon cubes: Choose your preferred cooking method—if using a skillet, heat it over medium-high and cook the salmon cubes for 2-3 minutes on each side until cooked through; if baking, preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and bake the cubes on a lined baking sheet for 10-12 minutes; or air fry at 375°F (190°C) for 8-10 minutes until the salmon is cooked and flakes easily.
  3. Mix the bang bang sauce: In a separate bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, Thai sweet chili sauce, sriracha, honey, and lime juice until the sauce is smooth and well combined.
  4. Toss and serve: Once the salmon cubes are cooked, immediately toss them gently in the bang bang sauce until they are fully coated. Serve the salmon bites warm as an appetizer or snack.

Notes

  • You can adjust the spiciness by increasing or reducing the amount of cayenne pepper and sriracha.
  • For a crispier texture, air frying or skillet cooking is recommended over baking.
  • Make sure to not overcook salmon to keep it moist and tender.
  • This recipe works well as a party appetizer or light meal when paired with a fresh salad or steamed vegetables.
  • Leftover sauce can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
